Life Coaching with Liz

So there’s this completely awesome life coach I am privileged to know, called Liz Goodchild. Recently she interviewed me by Skype for a thing – here’s what she had to say about ME :

Friends! Here’s another of the interviews I did with someone who has been to TWO of my workshops.

The first London workshop I hosted included some yoga*, and this awesome human being messaged me one day and said, “Fuck it, I don’t do yoga, but I’m coming anyway.” I replied along the lines of, “Yo, I’m shit at yoga. Let’s do this!” and we’ve kept in touch ever since. The work that I do introduces me to some really wonderful people, and this person is one of them. She’s honest, ballsy, kind, feisty and definitely a “fuck it, I’m doing it anyway” person (and not just with yoga).

“Fuck it, I’m doing it anyway” people are the kind of people who come to my workshops. Either that or they want to be more of a “Fuck it, I’m doing it anyway” person and just need a nudge in the right direction.

* I did not teach the yoga at the workshop, by the way. If I taught yoga, I’d just encourage everyone to lie down and nap. Forget the downward dogs and all that malarkey.

I’ve been tagged by Nisha to answer eleven questions.

Here is her original post. At the end of that you can click through to the other ten people taking part in this challenge and at the end of this post, I’ll list the eleven people that I’m tagging next and the eleven questions I have for them!

1, If you could have any superpower what would it be and why?

 
Flight. Definitely. Because I don’t like walking. I don’t want to walk from here to the car, quite frankly.

2, If you were the ruler of the world what laws would you introduce?

Oh so many. Where to start? Equality for everybody in all things. My mother used to accuse me of Communism, but I believe the worlds riches and resources are plentiful and if they were shared out equally, there would be more than enough to go round. Surely that’s empathy rather than Comminism?

So, racial and gender equality. Equal pay for women.

No one person is better than any other.

We’re born empty handed and we die the same way too. For the bit inbetween, we just need to treat others as we would like to be treated.

3, What was your last dream about?

Well this morning, I was awake early, and then I went back to sleep and dozed. Yeah, those were some weird dreams right there.

Checking into a hotel where they somehow scanned a moving image onto my glasses.

Being in my office, knowing I was asleep (but sat up at my desk) – hearing colleagues talking as if everything was normal, but being completely unable to open my eyes.

And those are the only bits I feel comfortable sharing.

4, Where would your dream holiday be?

I’m not much one for holidays really. One of my besties goes to Las Vegas as often as she can, so I guess I’d go there and give that a go?

5, If you had £10/$10/10 Euros etc to buy a gift for your best friend what would it be and why?

I’m out with my awesome mate Jane tomorrow night, and that £10 will buy us two pitchers of cocktails in a certain establishment. *checks Google for Wetherspoons in Wolverhampton*

6, If you could teleport to anywhere right now where would you go?

Exeter. My best friend lives there. He’s cool and funny and time spent with him is all the awesome. I love Exeter and I love him and it’s been too long.

7, What food/drink can’t you live without?

Aaaaand we’re going back to Exeter…for my favourite food of all time. Pretty much anything from the menu at Ruby Modern Diner – soft spot for the Hard Shakes.

8, In a life movie about you, who would play your character and why?

Ooooh tricky one.  I’m gonna go with Rebel Wilson for fairly obvious reasons.

9, Who in your life makes you feel amazing?

People who tell me I’ve helped them feel more confident about being themselves. It’s a virtuous circle and I love being the catalyst for those feelings – that’s my purpose.

10, What advice would you give your 5 year old you?

Don’t give up. You’re okay. You’re going to be okay. Stay true to who you are and believe in yourself.

11, What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever done?

Almost ten years as a single parent. My choice, my decision – a huge step but I’m glad I was brave enough to take that step.

8. Are you a cat or a dog person? (Or a horse or a lizard? You get the picture. I’m trying to avoid asking “what’s your favourite animal?”)

9. What’s the one song that will always get you on the dance floor?

10. Which blog post you’ve written do you feel  deserved a bit more love than it got?

11. If someone was naming a cocktail after you, what would be in it and what would it be called?
